Frequently asked questions

About making, installing, and using your custom handwriting font.

How do I turn my handwriting into a font?

Two ways: snap a photo of a page of your handwriting and we'll detect each letter automatically, or draw each letter directly in your browser. Then review the glyphs, fill in any missing characters, and download a real .ttf file you can install on any device.

What format is the font I download?

A standard .ttf (TrueType) file — the same format you'd buy from a foundry. It works in Microsoft Word, Google Docs (via the custom-font upload), Pages, Canva, Figma, Photoshop, and every operating system that supports fonts.

Can I install my custom font on iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows?

Yes — on all of them. We have step-by-step install guides for each platform. iOS needs a profile, Android needs a font-installer app, macOS and Windows just double-click the .ttf.

Is the handwriting font generator free?

Making, previewing, editing, and sharing your font is free. Downloading the final .ttf costs one credit ($15 for a single font, $59 for 5, or $99/year for unlimited downloads). Credits never expire.

How long does it take to make a font?

About 5 minutes if you upload a photo. Drawing each letter yourself takes longer — roughly 15 minutes for the full character set — but gives you pixel-perfect control over every glyph.

Do I own the font I create?

Yes. You created it from your own handwriting, so you can use it commercially, share it with friends, install it on any device you own, or embed it in client work. No royalty fees.
